Donnie Ao-Asen is a Filipino Canadian creative writing student and artist in Vancouver, BC. He draws inspiration from his mental health journey, his faith/spirituality, and his love for creepy critters and misunderstood monsters. With a hodgepodge of prose and scribbled doodles, Donnie’s work explores the bridge between queerness and fandom culture, navigating life with mental illness, and exploring one’s messy relationship with their faith and body. When he isn’t drawing, Donnie enjoys playing DnD and making silly voices to make his friends laugh.
