TW: Discussion of death and abusive relationships as well as body horror and suicide.
About the story:
This is one of several stories I’ve written about a concept called Generation Undead, a group of monstrous college student superheroes living in the Bronx in the 1990s. A reader doesn’t have to be familiar with any of the other stories as this is the first time putting focus on the title character, Medjed, an unconventional mummy who represents the Deadly Sin of Sloth.
Short Story, by Jude Deluca.
Jude Deluca is a nonbinary aegosexual Capricorn (her/him/they). Her areas of interest are magical girls, slasher fiction, YA horror, 90s nostalgia, superhero dads, and big beautiful men. She’s a professional detective of horror media and has rediscovered several lost short stories such as “Goosebumps: Dead Dogs Still Fetch” by R.L. Stine and and Braden Gardner. She’s working on her first novella, “Scream Cheese,” for Mad Axe Media’s Totally Freaked and is sorting out the details for her first short story collection.
