True Monsters

From the author:

Selkies are mythological creatures from primarily Irish and Scottish folklore who can shapeshift between their seal and human forms by donning or removing their seal skin. If their pelts are stolen, they become trapped in their human form forever.

Short Story, by Julie Brydon.

Julie Brydon (she/her) is proudly bisexual and writes sapphic fantasy about magic wielders and supernatural entities who definitely should kiss. Her short fiction has appeared in Butterworth Books’ SapphFic Eclectic Volume Four, The Pull of the Tide: A Sapphic Fantasy Romance Anthology, Worlds of Possibility, Allegory, and Flash Fiction Magazine, and she contributed a spicy romance novella, The To-Screw List, to the charity anthology, Bi the Way, I Love You. When she’s not writing, she can be found drinking too much tea with her nose buried in a book or three.
